Sunday Best Blog July 29th- Eliminations, performances and commentary
Leandria Johnson opened up the show tonight with a stirring rendition of “Sooner or Later” showing off her baby bump in a gorgeous gold and burgundy outfit. Her hair was on point as always. That is a squawking girl! She can sing and she did it in stiletto heels.
I believe that the judges did the right thing tonight and eliminated the correct individuals. I love Donnie’s candor with the contestants. I am sometimes left wanting more from CeCe and Yolanda to help these individuals grow, but I guess that is what Kim Burrell’s role is on the show.
I believe that 3 contenders have emerged in Danetra Moore, Alexis Spight and Joshua Rogers. I’ve said that I’m rooting for Alexis Spight from the beginning. I think these 3 are the most versatile, but the next coming weeks will show us whether or not that is true.

Ashford Sanders “Oh How I Love Jesus” – Ashford is a great vocalist and it was great to see him leave the microphone and work the stage a little bit. He has a touch of raspy in his voice and of course he continued the song after it was over.
