BeBe Winans scheduled to sing at the Republican National Convention despite being a registered Democrat
If you’ve been reading or watching the news, you know that this campaign season has been rough. We have a Presidential campaign that is slinging mud steeped in accusations from the Republican party towards President Obama. They accused him of being “un-American”.
In the midst of all of this, BeBe Winans, released a patriotic CD entitled “America,America”. BeBe, a registered Democrat, is now scheduled to appear at the Republican National Convention as a performer on the closing night.
BeBe sang at the DNC in 2004 and he also campaigned for Barak Obama.
In a recent article in the Washington Post, BeBe stated the following:
“I want to remind people that before any association with any party that we’re all Americans. No matter who wins, if we don’t come together and really invest in the country we love, we’re not going to solve the problems.”
According to the same article, the performance is unpaid and the Democratic National Convention has taken back their invitation to sing at their convention this year.
Hmmm… Has BeBe switched sides or is he just looking for a larger platform hence more sales for his patriotic CD? You be the judge.
If you haven’t heard the CD, please preview it here:
